Overview

What Mystock.ai is and what you can do with it.

Mystock.ai is a Google Finance–style investment app. You can look up live stock quotes and charts, read market news, keep a watchlist, track a real portfolio with gain/loss, and learn to invest with an AI tutor.

Everything is organised around the left sidebar. Each item there is a section of the app, covered below.

Free vs Pro

A free account covers live pricing and key stats, market news, ticker search, and the Beginner lessons in AI-Learning.

Pro ($20/mo) adds the ability to save tickers to your Watchlist, add holdings to your Portfolio with gain/loss tracking, and unlock the Advanced lessons and their AI tutor. See the Pricing & Pro section for how to upgrade.

Getting around

The sidebar, the top bar, search, and switching themes.

The sidebar

The sidebar on the left is the main menu: Dashboard, Watchlist, Portfolio, Search, AI-Learning, Pricing, Settings, and this Docs page. The current section is highlighted. On small screens the sidebar is hidden — use the search bar and links to move around.

The top bar

The top bar is on every page. It has:

  • A search box — type a ticker or company name from anywhere to jump to a stock.
  • A theme toggle — switch between light and dark.
  • Your account — your email, your plan badge (Free or Pro), and Sign out.

Following a link to a stock

Ticker symbols throughout the app (on the dashboard, your watchlist, your portfolio) are links. Clicking one opens that stock's detail page.

Dashboard

Your at-a-glance market and portfolio view.

The Dashboard is the landing page. It shows:

  • Portfolio KPIs — total value, day change, and overall gain/loss, if you have holdings saved (Pro).
  • A portfolio performance chart — your portfolio value over time. A new data point is recorded each day you open the dashboard.
  • Sector allocation — how your holdings split across sectors.
  • Market movers — notable gainers and losers.
  • Market news — a general market news feed. Click a headline to read the full story at the source.

If you are on the free plan or have no holdings yet, the portfolio panels show an empty state instead of numbers.

Finding a stock

Searching by ticker or company name.

There are two ways to search:

  • The search box in the top bar, available on every page.
  • The Search page in the sidebar, for a full-page search.

Start typing a ticker (like AAPL) or a company name (like Apple). Results appear as you type. Pick one to open its stock detail page.

Search is powered by live market data, so newly listed tickers and name changes show up automatically.

The stock page

Quotes, key stats, and the price chart.

Every stock has a detail page at /stock/TICKER. It shows:

  • The live quote — current price, today's change in points and percent, and the previous close.
  • Key stats — market cap, P/E ratio, 52-week high and low, and the company profile (sector, industry, exchange).
  • A price chart — switch between 1D, 1W, 1M, and 1Y ranges using the buttons above the chart.

If the chart says data isn't available

Chart history comes from a data provider with free-tier limits. If that quota is exhausted, the chart shows a short "not available" message instead of an error — the quote and key stats still work. Try again later.

Saving the stock

On the stock page you can add the ticker to your Watchlist, or add a holding to your Portfolio. Both require Pro — see below.

Watchlist

A list of tickers you want to keep an eye on.

The Watchlist is a simple list of tickers — no share counts, no cost basis, just stocks you're tracking. Each row shows the live price and today's change, and links to the stock page.

Adding and removing

Add a ticker from its stock page (the star / "Add to watchlist" control) or from the Watchlist page itself. Remove a ticker with the remove control on its row.

Adding to the watchlist requires Pro. Removing a ticker you already saved works on any signed-in account.

Portfolio

Track real holdings with gain/loss.

The Portfolio tracks holdings you actually own. For each holding you enter the ticker, the number of shares, and your cost basis (what you paid per share, or total).

From that, Mystock.ai computes:

  • Current market value of each holding and the whole portfolio.
  • Unrealised gain/loss, in points and percent.
  • A performance chart over time and a sector allocation breakdown (also shown on the dashboard).

Adding and editing holdings

Add a holding from the Portfolio page or from a stock's detail page. You can add more than one lot of the same ticker — each purchase is its own row. Edit or delete a holding from its row.

Adding holdings requires Pro. Prices update automatically; you only maintain the shares and cost basis.

AI-Learning

Structured lessons with a built-in AI tutor.

AI-Learning has lessons across six asset classes — Stocks, Crypto, Forex, ETFs, Commodities, and CFDs — each at two levels:

  • Beginner — free on any account.
  • Advanced — included with Pro.

Open a lesson to read it, then use the AI tutor chat beside it to ask follow-up questions in plain language. The tutor knows which lesson you're on. Reading lessons and chatting with the tutor works on the free plan for every Beginner lesson.

Quizzes are a Pro feature

Each lesson ends with a 5-question quiz — that part is Pro-only. On Pro, score 4 out of 5 or higher to pass: passing marks the lesson complete and unlocks the next lesson in that track (Stocks → Crypto → Forex → ETFs → Commodities → CFDs, separately for Beginner and Advanced).

You get 2 tries per round. If you don't pass in 2 tries, review the lesson above and press "Try again" to reset and get 2 fresh tries — there's no limit on rounds.

On the free plan, Beginner lessons have no quiz and no lock between them — read them in any order. Upgrading to Pro adds the quiz (and its gating) to Beginner lessons too, alongside unlocking Advanced.

Practicing after you pass (Pro)

Once you've passed a lesson's quiz, a "Retake quiz" button appears with a brand-new, freshly generated set of 5 questions each time you use it — never the same quiz twice. It's pure practice: your score there doesn't affect your progress or the next lesson's unlock, so retake it as many times as you like.

Choosing a language

The globe menu on the AI-Learning hub and on every lesson page lets you pick a language — including major European languages (French, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Greek, Czech, Romanian, Hungarian, Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish), Arabic, Hindi, Chinese, Swahili, Hausa, Yorùbá, Igbo, and Naija Pidgin, alongside English. Lesson text, the quiz (including retake practice questions), and the AI tutor's replies all switch to that language; the choice is saved to your account, so it's the same on any device. You need to be signed in for it to stick.

A lesson opened in a language for the first time anywhere on the site takes a few extra seconds to translate; after that it's instant for everyone.

Beginner lessons use a fast model; Advanced lessons use a more capable one. Your chat history for each lesson is saved to your account.

Pricing & Pro

What Pro unlocks and how to upgrade or cancel.

The free plan gives you live pricing and key stats, market news, ticker search, and Beginner lessons with the AI tutor (no quiz).

Pro is $20/month and adds:

  • Saving tickers to your Watchlist.
  • Adding holdings to your Portfolio, with gain/loss tracking.
  • Advanced lessons and their AI tutor for every asset class.
  • Lesson quizzes and the guided, unlock-as-you-pass path through every track — plus AI-generated practice retakes.

Upgrading

Go to Pricing in the sidebar and choose a payment method:

  • Card (Stripe) — for most customers, billed in USD.
  • Paystack — for customers paying in Nigerian Naira (NGN), ₦15,000/mo.

You'll be taken to a secure checkout page. After payment it can take a few seconds for your account to flip to Pro; refresh the page if the badge hasn't updated.

Managing or cancelling

Once you're on Pro, the Pricing page shows a "Manage subscription" section with a Cancel subscription button — it works for both Stripe and Paystack.

Cancelling stops future billing but leaves you on Pro until the end of the period you've already paid for, then your account reverts to Free. Your watchlist and portfolio data are kept — saving new items just becomes Pro-only again.

For card payments you can also open "Manage billing" to update your card or download invoices in Stripe's portal. If you cancelled by mistake, a "Resume subscription" button appears (Stripe) before the period ends.

Settings & appearance

Your account details and how the app looks.

The Settings page shows your account email and current plan, with a shortcut to upgrade or manage billing.

Appearance

Choose Light, Dark, or System (follow your device). The choice is saved per device — the quick toggle in the top bar does the same thing.

Account

Sign out from the top bar. Your watchlist, portfolio, and lesson progress are tied to your account and protected so that only you can see them.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

Common questions and quick fixes.

I upgraded but still see the free plan

Payment confirmation is near-instant but not always immediate. Wait a few seconds and refresh. If it hasn't updated after a minute, open the Pricing page again — the status re-checks on load.

A price chart won't load

Chart history uses a data provider with free-tier limits that can be reached during heavy use. The quote and key stats are unaffected. Try again later.

"Pro plan required" when I try to save a stock

Saving to the Watchlist or Portfolio is a Pro feature. Upgrade from the Pricing page, or keep using search and stock pages, which are free.

Prices look slightly delayed

Quotes are live from a market-data provider and may be a short delay behind the exchange, which is normal for retail data feeds.

Is my data private?

Your watchlist, holdings, and lesson chats are stored against your account with row-level security, so other users cannot read them.
